Brazil’s Mateus Aleluia Unveils Olorum

Mateus Aleluia, a distinguished 76-year old Brazilian singer has a new album titled Olorum. Aleluia is known for combining elements of chamber music and Afro-Brazilian influences.

Olorum features some of Brazil’s leading musicians, including Mauricio Fleury (Bixiga 70), Lucas Martins (Ceú, Curumim), Gustavo Ruiz (Tulipa Ruiz), Thiago França (Metá Metá), among others. Also included is Pastoras do Rosário, a vocal ensemble formed by a group of elderly black women, who have also worked with such artists as Fabiana Cozza and Emicida.
