Farewell, Alligator Man celebrates the music of southern Louisiana musician and songwriter Jimmy C. Newman. He passed away in 2014 and was important figure in the early country music scene.

This album features several American roots artists from various parts of the United States that were deeply influenced by Newman’s music. The overall result is a charming, finely crafted recording that features classic country music rich in pedal steel guitar along with bluegrass, blues and Cajun music influences.

The artists behind this tribute are Joel Savoy, Kelli Jones, Caleb Klauder, and Reeb Williams. Alligator Man also features bassist Gary Newman, Jimmy’s son.

The lineup includes Joel Savoy on fiddle and vocals; Kelli Jones on fiddle and kazoo; Caleb Klauder on vocals, acoustic guitar and mandolin; Reeb Williams on vocals, washboard and acoustic guitar; Gary Newman on upright bass; Rusty Blake on pedal steel and electric guitar; Ned Folkerth on drums; Chris Stafford on Wurlitzer and piano; Tom Krueger on harmonica; and Jesse Lége on accordion.
