Savannah Music Festival Reveals 27th Annual Season with Most Wide-ranging International Lineup to Date

The 2016 Savannah Music Festival (SMF) lineup will include folk, traditional, popular, and classical music by renowned artists from across the globe. The 2016 festival will take place from March 24th through April 9th, in Savannah, Georgia. The festival includes concerts, recitals, film and theatrical performances.
The impressive world music roster includes Rokia Traoré, Ballaké Sissoko, Kassé Mady Diabate, Mokoomba, Vicente Amigo, Söndörgő, Etienne Charles, Väsen, Fanfare Ciocarlia, Boban & Marko Markovic Orchestra.

 

 

The growing international stature of our port city is reflected throughout this year’s program,” says Executive & Artistic Director Rob Gibson, “which features artists from England, Serbia, Mali, France, Hungary, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Canada, Bulgaria, Ireland, Spain, Indonesia, Trinidad, Austria, Denmark, Brazil, Zimbabwe and Romania, performing a vast range of styles and genres. Mixed alongside bluegrass, blues, country, Cajun, Zydeco, New Orleans music or the ever-evolving blend of Americana styles, the abundance of amazing talent in SMF’s 2016 season is unparalleled in our organization’s history.”
