Madrid to Host the 11th Mostra Portuguesa, the Best of Portuguese Music and Culture in November 2013

The popular Mostra Portuguesa will return to Spain in November 2013. Rodrigo Leão and Mario Gomes’ project Os Poetas and Esperanza Fernández’s flamenco tribute to Saramago, are some of the highlights of this 11th edition.

The programming includes once more music concerts, film screenings, and literary and academic presentations.

Iconic Portuguese musician Rodrigo Leão (Lisbon, 1964), founder of seminal groups such as A Sétima Legião, Madredeus and Cinema Ensemble, an essential figure in Portuguese culture, will headline the programming of the 11th XI Mostra Portuguesa that will take place in Madrid in November. The Lisbon-based musician will perform on November 18th at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, where he will present the Spanish debut of his latest project, “Os Poetas – Entre Nós e as Palavras”, an encounter between this esteemed composer with the poetry of some of the leading poets in Portuguese language, including Mário Cesarinny, Herberto Helder, Luísa Neto Jorge and Adília Lopes.

The 11th Mostra Portuguesa is organized by the Embassy of Portugal in Madrid and the Camões Institute.
