offWOMEX 2013 to Present the Music of Spain and Belgium on October 25

On Friday, October 25, 2013 the offWOMEX program will present music from Spain and Belgium.

Renowned bagpiper and wind instrument virtuoso Budiño (Spain) will showcase his music rooted in Galician tradition. Sponsored by Nalgures. Budiño recently released an album titled Sotaque that features traditional Galician musicians, Michael McGoldrick and global music influences.

Belgian Brew will stage Laila Amezian ‘Tri0de’ (Morocco/Belgium/Sweden). Presented by Flanders Music Centre, Wallonia-Brussels Music and Sabam for Culture.

The other performance will be by Mandolinman (Belgium), presented by Flanders Music Centre, MuziekMozaiek and Sabam for Culture.

offWOMEX provides another avenue for artists to present themselves to world music professionals during the annual WOMEX conference. WOMEX 2013 takes place in Cardiff, Wales, UK during October 23 – 27, 2013.
