Six Acts Nominated for Austrian World Music Award 2011

Laetitia Ribeiro Band, Mamadou Diabate’s Percussion Mania, Sormeh, Netnakisum, Catch-Pop String-Strong and Federspiel are the contenders for the 2011 edition of the Austrian World Music Awards. The jury, who selected the nominees, consists of representatives of media, festival programmers, labels and artists.

The Austrian World Music Awards, which takes place this year for the eighth time, is an indispensable component of Austrian music culture. It shows the wonderful development of music in Austria in the last decade and offers young musicians a platform to present their talent.

This has been a good year for Netnakisum, Catch-Pop String-Strong and Federspiel. They have been selected by the Austrian government as some of the official recommended bands from Austria for 2012/2013 to the Austrian Cultural Forums.

The final of the Austrian World Music Awards 2011 takes place on the 4th of December 2011 in the prestigious Viennese club Porgy & Bess.
