Forro in the Dark’s New Album Available Now

Forro in the Dark, the band that has been rocking Wednesday’s at Nublu in New York City for the past five years is back with their second release Light a Candle via Nat Geo / Nublu Records.

They are both faithful and subversive of the Brazilian genre, experimentally mixing in electric guitar, elements of hip hop and electronica, and instruments foreign to forro. The new album was recorded almost entirely live, with minimal overdubs, capturing the high-energy performance that folks best know them for. The 13 song comprising the new album Light a Candle, a  name borrowed from a Neil Young song, was recorded at Flux Studios in New York City with the help from producer Fab and many great friends.
