Cuba’s EGREM Record Company Will Release a Collection with the History of Cuban Song

Havana, Cuba (PL) – A collection of records with anthological themes of the Nueva Trova movement, performed by famous singers, is being recorded by the EGREM record company, the oldest one in Cuba.

Among the singers there are also groups, such as Mayohuacán, Síntesis, Manguaré and Grupo de Experimentación Sonora del ICAIC, created in 1969 under the direction of Leo Brouwer and the voices of Silvio Rodríguez, Pablo Milanés and Noel Nicola among many others.

The collection of the themes was made by the famous composer, singer and producer Eduardo Ramos, who was musical director of the group of Pablo Milanes.

There are new songs such as Si el poeta eres tú, with the words of Miguel Barnet and the performance of Milanés, Acuérdate de Abril by Amaury Pérez, Para despertar a Nadia, by Noel Nicola and En el surco de la ternura, by Liuba María Hevia.

The new records will also include Sábanas Blancas by Gerardo Alfonso, Romance de la niña mala, by Pedro Luis Ferrer, Un hombre se levanta, by Silvio Rodríguez, Jalisco Park by Carlos Varela, Girón, la victoria, by Sara González and Para tu piel, by Miriam Ramos.

The collection, comprising five volumes, will be on the national and international market in 2009.
