Bassam SabaBassam Saba and April Centrone are going to Greece to record with Alekos K. Vretos for his new project. Bassam is a splendid and world renowned nay and flute player and met with Alekos during the 2nd Arabic Music Retreat, where he was functioning as an instructor. April is a world class musician percussionist and she is currently in Basam Saba’s band.With this kind of force Alekos K. Vretos is bound to have a lift off in music and playing. The CD will be released early 2008 (date to be announced). Too much effort, love and care has been put into Alekos’ project by all the musicians, tech support and administration because it’s mainly a friends project than anything else. "Taking our time makes the difference in music," says Vekros.
Angel Romero y Ruiz has dedicated his life to musical exploration. His efforts included the creation of two online portals, worldmusiccentral.org and musicasdelmundo.com. In addition, Angel is the co-founder of the Transglobal World Music Chart, a panel of world music DJs and writers that celebrates global sounds. Furthermore, he delved into the record business, producing world music studio albums and compilations. His works have appeared on Alula Records, Ellipsis Arts, Indígena Records and Music of the World.
