Gordon Duncan Book and CD Celebrate the Scottish Piper’s Legacy

The Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust has announced that the book “Gordon Duncan Tunes”, published under the guidance of Ian Duncan, and a new Gordon Duncan CD “Just For Gordon” (CDTRAX 297), released by Greentrax Recordings, will be launched at ‘Piping Live’, The Piping Centre, McPhatter Street, Glasgow, at 2.15p.m. on Wednesday, 8th August, 2007.

“Gordon Duncan Tunes” contains 50 of Gordon’s own compositions, plus more, and will retail at £15.00. All profits will go to the Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust. Book and CD available from Ian Duncan.The CD “Just For Gordon” consists of vintage ‘live’ solo material gleaned from BBC archives, competition performances at Festival Interceltique, Lorient, Brittany, 1997, and the The Scottish Pipers’ Association Knockout Competition of 1993, plus some tracks from a limited issue Cassette of 1990 and a solo track from the Vale of Athol Pipe Band, Motherwell Concert, of 1996. The album, which has a playing time of 76 minutes, will retail at £12.00. All Greentrax profits will go to The Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust. CD and book also available from Greentrax Recordings.

The Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust will be presenting “A National Treasure” – “A Celebration pf the Music of Gordon Duncan” in The Perth Concert Hall on Saturday, 29th September, 2007, at 7.30p.m.
