Alison McMorland & Geordie Mclntyre

White Wings (Greentrax CDTRAX 306, 2007)

Singers Alison McMorland & Geordie Mclntyre specialize in traditional Scottish ballads. Throughour White Wings, the dramatic vocals stand out, with a cappella parts and duets with barely any instrumental accompaniment.

Although Alison and Geordie are essentially solo performers, they have developed a joint repertoire, allowing them to perform as a duo, at home and abroad, as well as work on other projects.

On White Wings they are joined by two master musicians, Derek Hoy (fiddle and viola) and Norman Chalmers (concertina, whistle and more) – both members of Jock Tamson’s Bairns. Kirsty Potts, daughter of Alison and a teacher of Drama, adds vocals on three tracks.
