Silver Lake Film Festival to Premiere Dengue Fever Documentary "Sleepwalking Through the Mekong"

Dengue Fever will be headlining The Echo Plex beneath the night before the screening (Friday May 4, 2007) as part of the Silver Lake Film Festival/ASCAP Presents with Sea Wolf (8:30pm), The Bird and the Bee (9:30pm), The Little One’s (10:30pm) kicking things off before Dengue Fever’s 11:30pm slot.

The only way the public will be able to attend this event is to buy a music pass for the Silver Lake Film Festival, buy a ticket to any music screening or be a badge holder to the film festival.

Dengue Fever is in the vanguard of an emerging global pop sensibility, making music that’s both familiar, yet eerily unique. Fronted by Cambodian pop star Ch’hom Nimol, who sings in Khmer, the Los Angeles sextet blends the rhythms of ‘60s Cambodian pop – heavily influenced by American surf, rock and early psychedelic garage bands – with their own eclectic mix of American and international styles.
