DiSfish Introduces Open Content Net Label

DiSfish is a new net-label using a “donate if you wish” model to
generate revenue for the label, artists, select charities and Creative Commons.
The ‘open content’ service lets registered users upload original songs and
artwork for distribution online. Visitors to the site can download music and
make unlimited legal copies for friends. If listeners wish to do so they may
support the project through donations. Styles listed include: world music,
classical, jazz, electronica, rock, blues, and: other creative collective
sounds. The artist gets 50% of the donation, 5% goes to Creative Commons, 5% goes for
the charity of the DiSfish choice, 40% is for running and promoting DiSfish. All
music is available by digital download only and released to the public under the
Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license from Creative Commons, except for
special projects that will be released under the Attribution-ShareAlike license.
All DiSfish artists keep all the rights to their music and financial reports
will be provided on demand. The non-exclusive license still allows artists to
sign agreements with other parties and release their own CDs (see Terms).

Podcasters are encouraged to use the music in their podsafe music shows. DiSfish
is created by two of the Creative Collective founders: Marco Raaphorst and
Cezary Ostrowski.
