Irish Gaelic singer releases debut CD

Ireland – Irish Gaelic singer, Brid Ni Mhaoileoin, has released a debut CD, Ar Mhuin na Muice,
on her own label, Habari Records. It is an album of Sean-Nos and contemporary Irish Gaelic song.

The focus of the CD is Brid’s singing, which is a perfect showcase for the guest musicians: uilleann pipes and whistle player Joe McHugh, fiddle player Kevin O’Connor, accordion player Kate Dunne and bass player Wolf Zwiauer, and the beautiful backing harmonies of Brid’s mother, Caitlin, and
her brother, Padraig.“I have known Brid since she was just a little girl fronting the talented and charming Ceoltoiri Ghoill,”
said Tommy Sand about Brid Ni Mhaoileoin. “Her solid grounding in both the language and tradition gives her the power of both playfulness and passion. Her voice impatient for fun and breathless with sweet huskiness is a welcome sound after all the years.”
