Whitby is an ancient fishing port in Yorkshire, northern England. It is located between the North York Moors and the North Sea at the mouth of the River Eska.

Whitby has a large world music festival annually, with top world music acts. Whitby Musicport World Music Festival is held in October, at the Whitby Pavilion. The festival encompasses music and art forms from around the world. The weekend includes kite-making and flying, poetry and African mask-making and drumming workshops. Children workshops and concert, storytelling &puppetry events. A campsite is available.
