I'm a newbie here, so I hope nobody minds if I announce an Internet radio station which I've been running for a while now.
It's called Worlds of Trad, and you can locate the station player at
http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/mini.cgi?station_name=oneworldmusic&tm=7011 .
Alternatively, you can bring up the station page by clicking on
http://www.live365.com/stations/oneworldmusic .
Then click the yellow PLAY button. Then, if you press the green button to the right, you can save Worlds of Trad as a preset. That will save you having to search the next time you listen in.
Worlds of Trad presents traditional music, literally on a global basis. While there's always lots of stuff from Britain, Ireland and the USA, I always squeeze in plenty of music from other parts as well. This month, you can hear a couple of tracks from Bulgaria, as well as some surprising sounds from Italy, Croatia, Norway, Peru, Mexico and Cape Breton.
If you want to check the complete playlist, it's at http://www.mudcat.org/thread.cfm?threadid=124485&messages=1 . Listening is completely free, programmes are at least three hours long, and they're on a continous loop. So the station is available 24/7/365.
Oh, and I welcome requests. Always provided I've got the records, and the music asked for is what the station's about of course.
Enjoy,
Fred McCormick.
