I am wondering if a few of you might be able to help me out. I dont listen to music much but am interested in the sounds of different cultures. I would like to get some album information of as many cultures/regions that I can. If anyone can suggest good albums of classic music from the orient, india, australia, africa and so forth that would be very helpful! I would like to get a little collection of music from around the world but no nothing about where to find this classic music! Thanks for your help!

Here are some of delicious (according to me, of course) band's names that you can really taste with them; Djivan Gasparyan (armenian- esp. Black Rock), Baba Zula (turkish- world fusion), Sheva (hebrew- esp. Day&Night), Niyaz (middleeast- esp. Nine Heavens), Radio Tarifa (spain), Schal Sick Brass Band (scandinavian but vocal is persian), Renestezea (indian brass band), Grup Yorum (turkish- protest left side grup), Makis Abliandis (greek- esp. Bahar), Yona (yiddish music from spain), Shantel (balkanian+ german- esp. Disco Partizani), Willie and Lobo (spanish guitar), Mercan Dede (turkish- electronic sufi music- esp. Seyahatname)..... enjoy it!

Well, if you like music from the South Pacific, there is a new album out from Valilio Productions, named "Lomtengen", which takes the traditional tribal sounds of the Arowe tribes in Papua New Guinea, and presents these through contemporary rhythms of Dance and New Age. You can listen to some preview tracks on
http://www.myspace.com/valilioproductions and order the "Lomtengen" album through iTunes.
