- Les Moncada is a timbales performer, Latin percussionist and band leader from Oakland, California. He presently resides in Sacramento, California. A regular contributor to World Music Centra, Les has conducted interviews with legendary musicians like Cal Tjader, Tito Puente, Escovedo Brothers, and other musician friends. Les’ musical interests include Latin Jazz, Latin big band, salsa, Afro-Cuban folklore and Brazilian music. Les Moncada has performed with conga legends Francisco Aguabella and Poncho Sanchez.
