Since its inception, Anatolia has presented concerts at major colleges and universities, at notable music halls as well as public schools throughout New England. During May of 2000, Anatolia toured the Republic of Singapore where they performed as part of Anatolia is a group of talented musicians that are passionate about Middle Eastern music. The group was formed in 1994 to increase the awareness of Turkish and Arabic music through concerts, recordings, workshops and lectures. Members of the group include: Edward Hines ('ud, divan sazi, kaval, clarinet, zurna and vocals), Taner Okatan (saz, percussion and vocals) and Michel Moushabeck (percussion). It is based in Massachusetts, in the northeastern United States. In 1999 Anatolia contributed a soundtrack of music to a BBC (Great Britain)/WGBH (USA) documentary on Islam, which aired as part of the award-winning series The People's Century. Anatolia's debut recording, Folk Songs and Dance Music of Turkey and the Arab World was released in 1996. Lost Songs of Palestine was released in 2001. Guest artists appearing with Lost Songs of Palestine included Jamal Sinno (kanun), Mohammed Mejaour (ney, percussion), Said Khoury (buzuq, ud, violin) and Mireille Tannous (Vocals).
