In 1981 he formed the ?Echizen Hibiki Daiko? Taiko group, with whom he played in many festivals throughout Japan. The ?Hibiki?are heirs to the traditional playing way of Fukui and, at the same time, they assume new musical themes. Abroad, Kurumaya Sensei performed in France, Great Britain, Germany, China United States and Italy.

Since 2001, besides his activity as a concert player, he dedicates himself to teach the Way of Taiko. In Fukui, Japan, he opened the ?Kurumaya Taiko Dojo? which is attended by students from all over the world.
