Amaury Gutiérrez
Biography:
 
Although, Amaury recognizes his style as Cuban pop, his songs include elements of progressive Cuban music, such as timba and nueva trova, as well as jazz and funk.

Amaury Gutiérrez was born in Santa Clara, Cuba, in 1963. He has a solid musical training. Amaury studied guitar and piano at the conservatory.

After two critically acclaimed albums, a nomination for the Latin Grammy award for best new artist, an award for best new artist from Spain’s Premios Onda, and the honor to have been personally invited by Sting to open two of his concerts in Florida in November of 2001, Amaury felt he was accomplished enough to perform in New York for his first time. He played in April of 2002.
