Pejman Hadadi is a master of daf and tombak. Hailed as the finest Persian percussionist living in the West, Pejman Hadadi began playing tombak at the age of ten under masters Asadollah Hejazi and Bahman Rajabi. Upon arrival to the U.S. in 1990, Hadadi began his professional career as a performing and recording artist with Persian classical music ensembles as well as Indian, Turkish and American musicians, such as Dastan Ensemble, Iran’s leading music ensemble, and Axiom of Choice, a progressive Persian ensemble in the U.S. Over the years, Mr. Hadadi has performed with masters in Persian music including Hossein Alizadeh, Shahram Nazeri, Keyhan Kalhor, Parisa, Hossein Omoumi and Ali Akbar Moradi. Mr. Hadadi has performed for many top music festivals world wide and toured extensively throughout the United States with Hossein Alizadeh, Kayhan Kalhor, and Shahram Nazeri, and is the premier percussionist member of the Dastan Ensemble. Hadadi’s credits also include film and theater soundtracks, numerous television and radio interviews and live performances.
