Goran Ivanovic is a native of Yugoslavia, the musical son of a Serbian father and a Bosnian Croat mother. He was born in 1978 and has crossed many boundaries in his life and in his music. While he was studying at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with masters such as Elliot Fisk and Joaquin Clerch, his parents were expelled from Croatia and they were granted political asylum in the United States. Since moving to the United States, Goran's broad grounding in Classical music was enriched by influences of Jazz, Latin and Blues. Goran has been awarded first prize at many guitar festivals and competitions including the International Guitar Festival In Greece, Jeunesses Musicales International, Society of American Musicians,and ECU. He has appeared in concert and given master classes at European and American music festivals including WFMT Live festivals including WFMT Live broadcasts in Chicago,Salzburg guitar festival,Volos guitar festival,World music festival in Chicago, and recently performed at Orchestra Hall in Chicago. |
