Born in Morocco and raised in France, Malika Zarra is an accomplished singer and musician. She studied clarinet for five years, but later she discovered her passion for singing, and she graduated as a vocalist from the Marseilles Conservatory. She followed her schooling with intensive workshops with Sarah Lazarus in France and Barry Harris in New York City. Malika's vocal versatility led her to participate in various projects including house, dance, gospel, funk and African music. In 2004 Malika arrived to New York City to focus on her career as a singer and composer. Her first album "On the Ebony Road" blends her rich and divers worlds, mixing Moroccan roots music and rythms with jazz, fusing Middle Eastern and Western music in English, French and Arabic. She has performed with Tommy Campbell, Makoto Ozone, Michael Cain, Miles Griffith, Harvey S, Kenny Davis, Jerome Harris, Spiros Exaras, Club d?Elf, and Michel Perez.
