Born in 1972 in the Moroccan city of Oujda, close to the Algerian border, Kadero grew up in the centre of raї. Already at a very young age he impressed his audience with his unique voice and even raї stars such as Khaled acknowledged his great talent. With the hit Emama y Mayme Kadero achieved his break through beyond the borders of Morocco. Concerts in France, Belgium and the Netherlands followed. Though, to follow up with an international career Kadero would probably have had to choose France as his permanent residence. A new challenge - Europe However, Kadero's path of life led him to Austria, where the raї music was hardly known. The encounter with the accordion virtuoso Otto Lechner, with whom he founded the Vienna Raї Orchestra at the beginning of 2001, was finally the beginning of Kadero's career as a raї singer in Austria. Working with the legendary jazz musician Joe Zawinul encouraged Kadero to develop his own way of raї which is open to all kinds of music. In February 2005, a project with the Austrian pop-band Papermoon was initiated which soon after celebrated its premiere in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, at the occasion of Sheik Nahyan's Festival of Thinkers. April 2005: "The voice of Maghreb" presents his debut album The young Austrian independent record label Atlas Music produced Kadero's first European album, , which was released in April 2005 in Vienna, Austria. At the sold out location Porgy & Bess in Vienna, he impressed Austrian media and audience likewise. In his twelve very distinctive compositions Kadero unfolds the entire magic of raї and develops it into an electrifying mix of afro, jazz, reggae and European pop. Atlas Music pro succeeded to win 15 top-class musicians from Morocco, Mauritius, Turkey and mainly Austria for this production; among them, well-known artists such as world class bass player Linley Marthe (Joe Zawinul Syndicate), accordion virtuoso Otto Lechner and the great guitarist Karl Ritter. His debut album Perdu came out in 2005. Official Web Site: http://www.kadero.com |
