Areti Ketime began playing santur from the age of 6. She grew up in a family closely connected to the traditional music and celebrations of Greece. Thus she was exposed to music in a completely natural way from her earliest childhood. At the age of 15 (in 2005), she became a professional performer, playing a broad spectrum of Greek traditional music, both as a singer and as a santur player.

Ketime plays with her own group of musicians, or - since he discovered her talent in 2002- with the famous Greek singer Yorgos Dalaras. He also produced her CD with four songs in 2003 which was released by Parlophone, an affiliate company of MINOS / EMI.

Her brilliant performance of one song, accompanying herself on the santur, at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in August 2004, was noticed by millions worldwide.
