Biography:
 

Vocalist and musician Ramon Tasat has a magnificent tenor voice. Ramon sings in Hebrew, Ladino, Spanish, Italian and English, and specializes in Sephardic music. He is equally well-versed in performing the music of other cultures.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ramon learned Ladino, the language of the Sephardic people, at his grandmother's knees. His style reflects the rich history and drama of this extraordinary culture. Trained in five different countries, Ram?n has studied at the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary, the Manuel de Falla Conservatory of Music and the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Doctorate degree in Voice Performance.

Ramon has appeared in numerous opera productions including "Le Nozze di Figaro," "II Impressario," and "La Traviata and he has participated in international festivals on both sides of the Atlantic. He is the recipient of numerous awards including First Place at the Montpelier Cultural Arts Center's Recital.

Ram?n offers a wide spectrum of lectures, workshops and programs. These range from "A Concert for Peace" to "Lullabies in Jewish Tradition," and "Echoes of Sepharad" to "The Music of Modem Israel."
