A native of Utrera, Diego "El Cabrillero" (Diego, the Goatherder), learned about Flamenco from his uncle, El Chocolate, and other Utrera cantaores like Fernando and Fernanda de Utrera, Gaspar de Utrera and El Perrate. At an early age, he started participating in Flamenco festivals, where he won numerous prizes. Despite a long career as a cantaor, he didn't record any albums until 1993. His debut release was Recuerdo de mis Gentes, a tribute to his father. |
