Her audiences range from elementary, high school, churches, corporations, museums, theaters and universities throughout the United States. Red Feather Woman has been inspired by the ancient stories given to her from her father and grandfather. She has received songs through her dreams and inspired by the stories she tells. Rose?s rich ancestry is very important as well as educating and sharing her culture and messages of hope for our future generations and Mother Earth. Rose's first album, titled The Keepers of the Earth, blends traditional storytelling, intermingled with contemporary music and sets the stage for journeys to distant worlds. Rose features Native American flutist, Mary Youngblood. Produced and arranged by Doug Haywood at First Hand Studio. Doug is a producer/singer/songwriter, former member of Jackson Browne?s band. The Keepers of the Earth album has four Native American traditional stories & four new songs. The Keepers of the Earth won the 2006 Native American Music Award for spoken word. Distant Drums, released in 2007, features musical influences that range from folk rock to classical, using instruments such as electric guitar and cello. Rose Red Elk's education includes a business vocational degree from Tyler Commercial College, Tyler, TX, 1981, A.A.S Electronics 1991 Tyler Junior College, B.S. Sociology, Texas A&M University 1995.
