Mexican Night at 7th Annual Chicago World Music Festival

EventsChicago (Illinois), USA – In celebration of Mexican Independence Day, Mexican Night kicks off opening evening festivities as part of World Music Festival: Chicago 2005 featuring Banda Manzanera, Lila Downs, Mariachi Perla de Mexico and Celso Piña y su Ronda Bogota at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, located between Michigan Avenue and Columbus Drive at Washington Street, on Friday, Sept. 16 at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the concert is free. This concert is co-sponsored by the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum and the Mexican Consulate of Chicago.
Mexican Night performances are part of the 7th Annual World Music Festival: Chicago 2005 featuring the best in international music, Sept. 16 - 22. Organized by the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the weeklong World Music Festival showcases both traditional and contemporary music from many of the world's diverse cultures. Festival
events include a mix of free and ticketed concerts, live radio broadcasts and educational workshops presented in museums, parks, cultural centers, plazas, theaters, bookstores, clubs and other venues throughout Chicago.
