Reggae Label Makasound Plans Tours and New Releases

General News

Paris, France -With several European tours, a new distribution agreement in England and the addition of a new artist to their roster, it’s going to be a busy year for Makasound. The label is dedicated to the discovery and development of Jamaican Reggae and has tours in the works for several of their artists including Manjul and Takana Zion, and Winston McAnuff. Makasound also struck a promising new deal with the label Harmonia Mundi as well as with singer Victor Démé.

Beginning in January of 2008, Harmonia Mundi will provide distribution in England for Makasound. Burkina Faso singer, Victor Démé, will now be licensed by Makasound in France. The 45 year-old Victor Démé has been an underground success is his home country for some time, and in 2008 he will finally release his first album. It is expected to be released in March with a tour to follow close behind.

Manjul and Takana Zion will be on tour from the end of January through mid-March. They have several shows booked already, with Antwerp on the schedule for the 26th of January, Lisbon on the 29th of February and then Naples and Venice on the 7th and 8th of March.

Winston McAnuff is set to release a new album in fall of 2008 with a tour coming up in July with Traffix Music.
