Bassekou Kouyate New Album Due 21 September 2009
Malian sensation Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni ba will release the follow-up to their critically-acclaimed and award-winning debut "Segu Blue" on 21 September on Out Here Records. The new album, entitled "I speak fula", was produced in Bamako by Lucy Duran and Jerry Boys, and features guest appearances by Toumani Diabate, Zoumana Tereta, Harouna Samake and Vieux Farka Toure.
"I speak fula" captures the incredible live energy of Bassekou Kouyate & Ngoni ba and is the next step in the career of one of Mali's most exciting and innovative musicians. Since the release of the debut album SeguBlue in March 2007, Bassekou Kouyate's career has turned him from being a respected musician performing alongside artists such as the late Ali Farka Toure and Toumani Diabate into a World Music star in his own right.
