Beninese Star Angelique Kidjo Returns to the Wisconsin Union Theater November 6th

One of Africa’s greatest stars, Angelique Kidjo, returns to the theater with her buoyant, energetic act. She will be performing at the Wisconsin Union Theater on November 6th, 2008 at 8 p.m.
 
 Born in Benin and performing professionally since she was six, Kidjo, sings in several African languages as well as French and English. Traveling the world to share her passion and talent, Kidjo has used her popularity to benefit those less fortunate. A UNICEF goodwill ambassador, she speaks out on behalf of children from the many stages she has graced with her presence.


Kidjo’s rhythmic beats capture the spirit of Africa and drive the music to a new level. Kidjo is passionate, spirited and talented.

This performance is sponsored by the Wisconsin Union Directorate Theater Committee and supported in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin. Media sponsors are WORT, WPR’s Higher Ground, WSUM, The Onion and Capital City Hues.

 

Tickets are $38, $32, and $18 for the general public, $36 and $30 for WAA members, Union members, UW faculty and staff, and non-UW students. As always, UW-Students are only $10!
