Brazilian Jazz with a Great Groove

Brazzamerica – Brazzamerica

Brazzamerica – Brazzamerica (indie release, 2016)

As the name implies, this trio plays a mix of Brazilian music and influences from the United States. It’s a jazz format of piano, bass and drums that incorporates samba, maracatú and other Brazilian styles.

The three members of the group are Brazilians who moved to New York. The performances are exquisite, with notable interplay and more jazz focused than world music oriented.

The lineup includes Cidinho Teixeira on piano, Leco Reis on bass, and Edson Ferreira on drums.

Brazzamerica has a fine balance of upbeat and calmer material, always with a great swing.
