Celebrated Flamenco Summit Suma Flamenca Returns to Madrid

Madrid’s renowned Flamenco Festival, Suma Flamenca (Flamenco Summit) will take place June 3 through June 30 at different venues in the capital and Madrid region.

This week, Suma Flamenca will present two flamenco song performances, a dance show, a film series and performances at tablaos (flamenco nightclubs).

One of the most impressive new jazz/flamenco crossover vocalists, Silvia Pérez Cruz, will perform on June 5 at Corral de Comedias in Alcalá de Henares. She will be accompanied by guitar maestro Raül Fernández Miró.

As part of Suma Flamenca, Madrid’s city council has scheduled a month of flamenco at Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa. The first show will be El arte por delante, performed by the Rojas y Rodríguez dance company, June 3-7 at Sala Guirau.

Sala Guirau’s lobby will display the Antonio Gades. 50 Años de Danza Española exhibit by Fundación Antonio Gades throughout the month of June.

The Sala Jardiel Poncela at Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa has scheduled the children’s show Flamenco Kids en el Jalintro by the eresa del Pozo and José Luis Montón company, every Saturday at 17:00 (5:00pm).
