Ara Dinkjian Pays Tribute to the Resilience of the Armenian People

Celebrated Armenian-American ‘oudist and composer, Ara Dinkjian is set to perform on Friday, April 10 at Alwan for the Arts in New York. Dinkjian will present the new album or Armenian songs titled 1915-2015 Truth & Hope, which is a special tribute to the tribulations and resilience of the Armenian people. The lineup includes Dinkjian on oud, accompanied by a string quartet and guest musician, Tamer Pınarbası, on qanun.

The evening’s repertoire ponders the Armenian Genocide. It includes songs of mourning, the resting of the souls of the departed, soldiers, and prayer that are well-known Armenian folk songs, as well as Armenian sacred music, and pieces written and arranged by Ara Dinkjian.

Ara Dinkjian’s discography includes Peace on Earth, Soundscapes, Conversations With Manol, An Armenian In America, and Finding Songs.
