‘Jazz untagged’ from 20 to 22 June in Madrid

The SGAE Foundation has organized the series ‘Jazz sin etiquetas’ (Jazz untagged) from June 20 to 22, 2014 at the Sala Berlanga in Madrid. The festival will feature Africa Gallego, Iñaki Arakistain and Dead Capo. With this program, the SGAE Foundation will join the activities organized to celebrate Music Day.

Jazz sin etiquetas aims to show the public three musical projects that go beyond the strict boundaries of jazz, approaching other genres.

On June 20, the series starts with the concert by Africa Gallego. The artist from Malaga started as a cajon player at 17 and worked with various bands until she moved to London at 25 and joined a gospel choir. In 2000 she formed Mojo Project, a band that had a huge critical and commercial recognition, blending funk, flamenco, jazz and house music. In 2005 she decided to start his solo career. After her first album A mi aire, that was presented live throughout Spain, Africa Gallego is working on a new recording.
