Renowned World Music Festival ¡Globalquerque! Begins today in New Mexico

globalquerque-2013¡Globalquerque! New Mexico’s 9th Annual Celebration of World Music & Culture opens today Friday September 20, 2013 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Gates open at 4:00 PM.

In addition to the world music concerts by prominent international acts, ¡Globalquerque! Includes The Global Village of Craft Culture & Cuisine, where you can sample Egyptian specialties from The Nile Cafe, offerings from Gauchito Catering’s Argentinian grill, South Indian Masala Dosas from Dosa Dosa or Firenze Wood Fired Pizza’s authentic Italian street apizza!

The festival also features the ¡Globalquerque! Silent Auction where visitors find incredible stuff from original artwork to roundtrip airfare from Jet Blue to gift certificates for fab restaurants, services, classes, hotels and a much more including live chickens! All the proceeds go towards keeping the festival moderately priced and much of its programming free!

At 6:20 PM, music legend Leon Russell hits the Plaza Mayor Stage, followed by nine outstanding acts from around the world
