Tabeer (Music Today)

Pakistani music has made a notable impact in India, especially through eminent vocalists such as Shafqat Amanat Ali and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. Shafqat Amanat Ali was the vocal force behind the Pakistani band Fuzon. He is the son of one of Pakistan’s legendary classical singers, Ustad Amanat Ali Khan of the Patiala Gharana.

He has sung the popular number ‘Mitwa’ from the Karan Johar movie ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna.’ This album based on folk and sufi works features 9 tracks, and though they stretch for barely 35 minutes, it has a couple of outstanding tracks in ‘Naina’ and ‘Pagalpan.’
