In Concert (Music Today/White Swan)

This is an excellent album right at the crossroads of Indian classical music, jazz, chillout and funk. Prem Joshua has done it again, with a 70 minute album consisting of 7 live versions of earlier tracks, and two original pieces.

The lineup includes Prem Joshua on flutes and sitar, Chintan Relenberg on keyboards, Raul Sengupta on tabla, and Satgyan Fukuda on bass. “This album is a tribute to where it all began – the streets of India with its simple and warm-hearted people,” Joshua explains.

Our picks include the pieces Namaskar, Mata Bharat and Funky Guru.
