Bollyhood Bass, the new album by David Starfire is set to release January 12, 2010. This will be the first 2010 of Six Degrees Records. In 2007, as part of the Six Degrees "Emerging Artist" Series, David Starfire released the five-track Bombay Beatz (a Six Degrees digital-only EP), an excursion in pan-ethnic electronica and something of a manifesto for his particular musical vision. Now, in the wake of collaborations and remixes for such artists as Freq Nasty, N.A.S.A., Mochipet & Sub Swara, his first full-length, Bollyhood Bass refines and develops that vision further.

On Bollyhood Bass, Starfire continues to mix up sounds from India and the Middle East with bass driven electronics, dubstep, dance-hall, hip hop & breaks, in the singularly unique manner that has made him a favorite of the BBC Asian radio network and at festivals such as Coachella, Love Parade, Electric Picnic, Shambhala, Burning Man, Lightning in a Bottle and Earthdance. It is a sound that is both familiar and utterly unique: a world-electro fusion that nods to the Asian Underground movement and neo-bhangra.
