The biggest names in Haitian music will appear in Kreyolfest 2009. The musical fare includes: CaRiMi, Djakout Mizik, Barikad Crew, Rockfam Lame A, Boukman Eksperyans, Kreyol La, Nu Look, Vwadezil, Model Kompa and Do-La. Kreyolfest, which is entering its 9th edition, is scheduled for Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Wingate Park in Brooklyn, New York.
"We’re tremendously satisfied with the line up," said Garry Pierre-Pierre, publisher of the Haitian Times, Kreyolfest organizer. "As always, its diversity will bring the youth, as well the mature together to celebrate their Haitian heritage."
Kreyolfest 2009, whose theme this year is "Tou Neuf," for this never seen before line-up in New York City. Along with the great music, festival-goers and their kids will have a selection of fun pack outdoor activities to enjoy – such as face painting, slides, and games – from Noon until 4 PM. A major component of Kreyolfest is a health fair where the adults and children can check their blood pressure, heart rate and dental checkup. Kreyolfest will showcase the various regional cuisines of Haiti as well as arts and crafts during this family oriented festival.
In addition, this year, the Haitian Times, Kreyolfest organizers, is celebrating its 10th year anniversary and Kreyolfest organizers are scheduling something special to commemorate such milestone. See you all at Wingate on the 28th.
