The 5th Annual Indian Summer Music Awards (ISMA) have announced the winners for this year’s awards and Canyon Records, of Phoenix, Arizona, has received one award. Northern Cree & Friends won in the Best Traditional Drum category for Calling All Dancers, Vol. 6.

Northern Cree has won or been nominated in this category every year since ISMA began in 2004. Previous winners include, Still Rezin (2004), Slide and Sway, Vol. 4 (2006), Long Winter Nights, Vol. 5 (2007) and Rezonate (2005) was a finalist. Since 2004, Canyon Records has received a total of nine awards and 30 nominations.

The awards were presented Saturday, September 6th, 2008 at the Indian Summer Festival. Eligible recordings were commercially released albums between March 2, 2007 and March 1, 2008. To view the list of winners, visit www.indiansummer.org.
