Eastern Blok Appears in Angelina Jolie’s Upcoming Film, Wanted, and Will Release Folk Tales in October

Chicago, USA – Eastern Blok releases their highly anticipated album, Folk Tales, on October 24, 2007. The quartet will be a highlight of this year’s Chicago World Music Festival in September, and the group has been selected to be featured in the upcoming major motion picture, Wanted, starring Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman.

After playing over 300 shows together and selling more than 3,000 records, the band formerly known as The Goran Ivanovic Group has recorded a new album, changed their name, and has been successfully packing venues throughout the country since the release of their self-titled debut album in 2005.

From appearing on NPR to touring the country with Poland’s own Grazyna Auguscik, Eastern Blok works without borders and which is reflected in their dynamic music. The band’s “Blacksmith’s Dance” was selected from thousands of submissions to be one of three finalists in the 2005 John Lennon Songwriting Competition.
