Cankisou is touring Europe

Czech world music band Čankišou is touring Europe. After several concerts at festivals in Netherlands, the band is going for concerts in Slovakia and Ukraine in July. The band has already performed in 13 countries.
 Čankišou with its wild rhythms just came back from Netherlands. There, the band performed for the first time and right at such big events as Amsterdam Roots festival, Wereldfeest in Utrecht and Kleur van de Nacht in Arnhem. Since these festivals have thousands of people coming every year, in few days the band played for about 40 thousand people.At the beginning of July Čankišou is performing at one of the biggest festivals in Slovakia called Hodokvas. The band plays there on 4.7.2007 together with world wide famous bands like Placebo or Korn.
 Few days later the band is flying to Ukraine for two gigs. First one takes place in a big club in a capital city Kiev and the second one at an International Ethnic music and Landart festival Sheshory 2007. Čankišou is coming back after a big success few years ago. This year there are bands from Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus and even famous Hedningarna from Sweden is coming.
 Čankišou, whose music makes audience all around the world dance, was established in 1999. Its wild music full of positive energy is influenced by many ethnics – Arabian, African, Balkan, Indian. The band has released three CD: Music of the Canki people (2000), Densé ju with tittle Mongolian folk song (2002) and Gamagaj, which is inspired by a book Baudolino by Umberto Eco (2004). Čankišou is working on its fourth CD right now.
 The band is literaly touring the world. Čankišou has performed in 13 countries so far. The band participated in World Performing Arts Festival 2005 in Lahore in Pakistan, where the musicians made fusion with well known Sufi singer Sain Zahoor. A year ago Čankisou performed at Manapany Surf festival 2006 on French Réunion island. Other concerts: FOLKowa FIESTA 2005 and 2006 in Poland, Sheshori festival 2005 in Ukraine, Fete de la Musique 2005 in Romania, Klaipeda Jazz festival 2005 in Lithuania, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Netherlands, Slovakia.
