Albuquerque (New Mexico), USA – ¡Globalquerque! announced the addition of legendary blues singer Koko Taylor to its 2007 lineup. Other additions to the lineup include visionary Lakota/Anishinabe hoop dancer and indigenous Northern Plains flute player Kevin Locke, Afro-Colombian legend Petrona Martínez and her 7 piece ensemble, Mande Djele kora master Lakandia Cissoko. They will be joining previously confirmed acts Mickey Hart’s Global Drum Project with Zakir Hussain, Giovanni Hildago and Sikiru Adepoju (USA/India/Puerto Rico/Nigeria), Baka Beyond (UK/Cameroon), Fiamma Fumana (Italy), Ilgi (Latvia), Yungchen Lhamo (Tibet).

New Mexico’s 3rd Annual Celebration of World Music and Culture will take place  September 21 and 22 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Presenting acts from 5 continents on 3 distinct stages over two days plus free community, family-focused educational day programming on Saturday, ¡Globalquerque! has become one of New Mexico’s as well as the Southwest and Rocky Mountain Region’s premiere festivals.
