New York (NY), USA – After a successful event at Borders Books & Music in Manhattan (New York City), Simaku is embarking on a six-city promotional tour in the United States, sponsored by Sony/BMG and Borders. By hosting  Simaku at these events, Borders is promoting Albanian music like the works of best-selling authors, music superstars and notable dignitaries such as Madeline Albright, Andrea Bocelli and Ted Kennedy.

Echoes From Iliria, the new CD written, recorded and produced by  Simaku and her
husband Robert Nolfe, is an eclectic, culturally significant blend of Albanian folklore, international flavors and American modernism.

Simaku and Robert will perform songs from their new album and will sign autographs immediately following each performance. Simaku’s tour dates at Borders Books & Music locations:

May 12 at 12pm – Boston, MA

May 13 at 7pm – Fairfield, CT

May 20 at 7pm – Philadelphia, PA

Jun 2 at 7pm – Chicago, IL

Jun 3 at 2pm – Birmingham, MI (Detroit)

Simaku stated “It gives me great joy to sing in my mother’s tongue here in America. I look forward to sharing my new music with the Albanian diaspora and world music fans.”

In this crowded music scene in the US, I am happy to have this unique
opportunity to share this peculiar music
”, said Robert Nolfe. “Albanian folk has
been in my heart for a long time. I am looking forward to playing guitar and
singing Ilirian chants with

.”
