Bob Marley’s’ 60th birthday to be staged in Ghana

’s 60th birthday is staged in Ghana.


Being the first of its kind in Ghana and the second time in Africa, the international event is expected to attract Bob’s fans from all over the world who will mass Ghana to be part of the annual event.
Disclosing this to myAnanse.com, the wife of the late legend, Rita Marley said the event is being organized with the support of the Ministry of Tourism. According to her it will not only be a musical concert but something edifying. “Ghana should look forward to this”, she said.


Coming up in the 3-day event is a youth symposium, a photo exhibition on Bob Marley’s work and his life and music. “African music and Reggae music”, she said specifically.


Already billed for this event are Ghana’s sensational musical group, Praye and Batman, the inspirational Ghanaian musician who says he is best of all time. “We are really looking forward to have Batman and Praye on our show come February 6th, 2006, right here in Ghana.


Our theme is “Africa Unite”. Every African country wants it but I said let it be Ghana this time”, said Rita Marley
