Small practical solutions – no matter where you are in the world…

Please join myspace.com/longterm

This is a forum where people can post their needs and others can post what they can give. Please join and post your needs and/or what you can offer. If you could send an email or letter telling people you know about this initiative this is already help.Long term/short term solutions:
Most important is to contact – one on one – local people displaced to define their needs which in the immediate are relatively small demands: sums of cash, musical instruments, vehicles etc. Perhaps others want to move and start new and for this it would be great to have a posting of housing availabilities and job availabilities – but most want to stay and rebuild their local communities.

FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) is overwhelmed and it will be months before everyone’s needs get attended to.

Henry Turner Jr. is a local musician and is currently helping out people. He is aware of peoples needs and can be contacted directly at henryturner@juno.com.

He is organizing benefit tours as well as practically aiding people locally with shelter and material support for friends and family. He says that what people need most is cash. They have homes that they need to get to but no $ to pay for gas. They have cars that may be in poor repair.

Musicians lost their instruments – they have gigs but no equipment. Small donations of cash and materials – for example starting with instruments can help
a lot.

This is Henry’s Contact information.
