The Somerset House Series 2005 Presents Orishas and Los Lobos

London, UK- Mexican American band Los Lobos and Cuban rap group
Orishas will be playing in London on Wednesday 13 July. The concert is part of
the The Somerset House Series.

With a fistful of Grammy’s and worldwide acclaim for the chart topping hit La
Bamba, Los Lobos deliver an eclectic, solidly satisfying blend of Mexican roots
and rock. They worked with greats such as Bobby Womack and
Rubén
Blades
they have a terrific number of great albums under their belt.
Orishas
are a young Cuban band based in Paris and Madrid, who fuse
traditional Cuban music with contemporary musical styles producing Afro Cuban
percussion and chants with turntable trickery and hip hop, pointing the way
forward for Cuban music.

The courtyard of Somerset House, one of London’s most impressive buildings,
has played host to an inspirational line-up for the past few years. The Somerset
House Series has effortlessly established itself as a unique event in the
summer’s live music calendar. For the past four years, sell out crowds have seen
performances from Lambchop, Orbital, Jorge Ben Jor, Royksopp, Beth Gibbons & Rustin Man, Goldfrapp, Calexico, Yo La Tengo, PJ Harvey, Lemon Jelly, Bebel
Gilberto, and Belle & Sebastian, amongst others. It is a chance for everyone to
see exciting
innovative artists in an utterly unique location.
